Domaine Chez Gilbert
Six sides of a stay at the Domaine: painting at an easel by the water, a photographer looking out over a village in the hills, a group cycling a country lane, walkers following the stream through the woods, friends raising a glass around a lantern-lit table, and a small yoga group on a deck by the water.
Design conceptPainting, photography, cycling, walking, long dinners and quiet mornings — how an exclusive-use stay is being imagined for 2027.

Exclusive use

Gather at the Domaine

The whole place. Just for you.

Some occasions are better when you have the place to yourselves.

Domaine Chez Gilbert can be reserved exclusively for private gatherings, creative escapes, activity weekends and small retreats. With five individual places to stay amongst the trees and running water, shared outdoor spaces and the option of food and drink taken care of, it is a wonderfully relaxed place to bring people together.

For exclusive-use stays, additional sleeping arrangements may be possible within some of our accommodation, allowing us to welcome larger groups than during our usual individual stays.

What people come here for

Six reasons to take the whole place

Celebrate

Birthdays · Anniversaries · Family gatherings · Reunions

Bring everyone together without sharing the Domaine with anyone else. Take your time over breakfast, gather around the table for dinner and spend the evening with the people you have actually come to see.

Create

Painting · Photography · Writing · Creative workshops

Woodland, water, changing light and plenty of quiet corners. Take over the Domaine for a few days of creativity, whether you are bringing your own group or running a workshop or retreat.

Explore

Walking · Cycling · Nature · Outdoor groups

Make the Domaine your base for exploring the Auvergne, with breakfast before you head out, packed lunches if you would like them and dinner waiting when you return.

Retreat

Yoga · Pilates · Wellness · Mindfulness

A peaceful setting amongst the trees for small, intimate retreats. Bring your own teacher, or talk to us about creating a stay around your group’s needs.

Gather

Friends · Clubs · Reunions · Special-interest groups

Sometimes you simply need somewhere beautiful where everyone can stay together. No other guests, no rigid timetable and plenty of space to reconnect.

Think

Small teams · Leadership retreats · Creative businesses

Swap the meeting room for the woods. Exclusive-use stays can be arranged for small teams looking for somewhere private to think, plan, eat well and spend time together.

Food and drink

We’ll feed you. Or leave you to it.

Your stay can be as independent or as looked-after as you would like.

Choose simply to stay with us, add breakfast each morning, or talk to us about a catered stay with breakfast and dinner at Gilly’s.

For days spent walking, cycling, painting or exploring, we can also arrange hampers and packed lunches. And for celebrations, there can always be champagne waiting.

For retreat leaders

Thinking of hosting your own retreat?

If you are a photographer, artist, yoga teacher, walking guide, coach or retreat organiser looking for somewhere to bring your own group, we would love to hear what you are planning.

You bring the people and the programme; we can provide the place to stay and, if you would like, take care of the food.

Children aged 8 and over

Families are very welcome at Domaine Chez Gilbert. To suit the nature of the site and its woodland and waterside setting, we welcome children from 8 years of age. We are unable to accommodate babies or children under 8.

This applies to exclusive-use stays as well. Tell us the ages of any children in your group and we will be straight with you about what we can do.
